Flat roofs are prone to unique issues, primarily due to ponding water — water that sits on the roof for more than 48 hours without draining. Over time, intense UV exposure, thermal movement, and standing water can cause the seams of a Torch Down roof to pull apart, pop, or blister, leading to serious interior water damage.
At Golden Heights Roofing, we specialize in diagnosing and repairing flat roofing systems. We possess the specialized thermal imaging tools and heat-welding equipment required to restore your flat roof to a fully watertight state.

Seams are the most vulnerable parts of any flat roof. If the original installation was rushed, seams can lift. We use professional hand-torches and heavy rollers to re-fuse and weld lifted seams, ensuring a continuous seal.
Moisture trapped beneath the membrane during original installation can expand in the summer sun, causing “blisters.” We carefully cut open the blisters, dry the wood beneath, patch the base structure, and fuse a new matching Modified Bitumen patch over the area.

If poor sloping is causing water to pool, we can install specialized tapered insulation boards or build up low areas before patching to redirect water flow toward your drains and scuppers.
Leaks often occur around roof drains, vents, and parapet walls. We strip away cracked tar, reinforce the edges with premium target patches, and seal them with commercial-grade elastomeric flashing cement.
